Jessica serves as the Program Officer for Digital Rights on GIF. She started her career in international development by serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mozambique where she taught computer science and mathematics in a secondary school. While in country, Jessica supported local communities to increase access to STEM education and implement gender-inclusive practices in science disciplines. After completing her service, Jessica moved to Chicago to pursue a Master of Jurisprudence in the Rule of Law for Development at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She originally became interested in the project as it focuses on supporting vulnerable communities to have increased access to digital rights and upholding the rule of law through innovative and locally lead interventions.
